Biography and Background
As of Season 1, Missy's background hasn't been explored or talked about in the show like the other main characters. All that is known about her is that she's an only child and lives with her African-American father and Caucasian mother who are both professors.
Missy is a young girl with thick dark brown curly hair, deeply tanned skin, light brown eyes, small pill-shaped eyebrows, and large lips. Compared to the other females in the show, Missy shows a more youthful and innocent look complete blue overalls over a light yellow t-shirt, brown open-toed sandals, a light yellow headband, and large braces on her teeth. At times, she will wear a bright pink backpack with a rainbow on the back of it. Among the cast, she is the shortest female and the second shortest character overall (being slightly taller than Nick).
Missy is a talkative, timid, emotional, and caring tweenager who loves to spew out random interesting facts she has learned. While she comes off as socially awkward, she actually enjoys talking to new people a lot. She has an optimistic outlook on life and mostly seen with a smile on her face.
She does have a tendency to talk a lot more than intended. In "Everybody Bleeds", Nick asked Missy where Jessi was, but Missy informed him that she didn't know of Jessi's whereabouts and started to ramble on about Ellis Island. After her constant talking, Nick follows up slowly with: "So.. that's a 'no' to where Jessi is?"
She also happens to be very sensitive when people yell at her. In "Sleepover: A Harrowing Ordeal of Emotional Brutality", Jessi yells at Missy for making a fool out of herself in front of Devin and Lola. When Jessi screams at her to be more normal, Missy instantly gets defensive about how she was trying to be part of their group.
